After the exhilarating show in EPCOT the night before, we woke up the morning of Day 4 excited.

A Morning in Hollywood Studios

We ate our breakfast and took the skyliner to Hollywood Studios. The plan this day was to try and ride all the Star Wars related rides first because the lines go ridiculously long.

Taste of Star Wars

There was one off to the side of the park before you get into heavy Star Wars territory. Because the line wasn’t long, we decided to join in. The ride was Star Wars – The Adventure Continues. I could see why the line wasn’t long.

For kids, I’m sure it was be exciting getting a taste of being in the Star Wars film but as adult, it just felt like sitting in a theater with a 4D experience. They had little holders for your loose items so I thought we were going to be in a moving ride where we change location. We just shook a little. A good beginner ride for the day, I guess. However, not the thrill I’m looking for.

We kept walking down the way getting into the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge location. We walked past Rise of Resistance but the line was so long. We weren’t ready to stand in that yet. So, we kept walking into Toy Story Land.

Toy Story Mania!

After a quick bathroom and drink break, we went to wait in line for Toy Story Mania!, another shorter line. Here is where we started playing 20 questions but with Disney characters. This ends up being a game we play often in lines since it doesn’t require using the battery of our phones.

Toy Story Mania! Is like a game and a ride, there are canons attached to your car that you launch pies to hit the bullseyes on the screens. You earn points for each time you land a hit. If memory serves, I didn’t do great but I think one of the Skys won the most points between the five of us. It’s definitely a fun ride for families, especially ones who like friendly competition.

Lunch and Rides at the Edge of the Galaxy

We were all getting peckish so we decided to get lunch back in the Star Wars area. We ate at Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo (after having to wait to enter due to crowd control). This was probably one of the top two meals I had while at Disney. I ordered the Smoked Kaadu Pork Ribs which were so delicious!

Rise of the Resistance

After lunch (and another bathroom break) we finally decided to brave the Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance line. The wait was over three hours and it didn’t look like it would be getting any better.

While waiting in the heat, we decided to break down and by the Lighting Lane passes for the other rides. We could choose two rides to use it for. Rise of the Resistance didn’t have any spots available so we decided to use it for Smugglers Run (which by the time we would be done waiting in line for Rise of Resistance, it would be time for our Lighting Lane pass) and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster which would be towards the evening time.

In the line for the Rise of Resistance, they thankfully had another area for the restrooms within the line itself so some of us tried to us the bathroom before the line moved again, although the people behind us were kind enough to hold our spots while we went in shifts.

Towards the end of the line, they made it feel like we were really captured and like were moving to the next “station” before we waiting for another few minutes to get on the ride. The cast members were deep in character and I loved it.

The ride itself was really fun and the thrill I was looking for earlier but you’ll have to see for yourself! Even though the line was egregiously long, the experience was worth it. This is coming from someone who isn’t a Star Wars fan.

Smugglers Run

We went over to Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run and it felt so good not having to wait in line, in the heat. This ride was about team work. Even with five of us, we still needed two more people in the “cockpit” with us.  I, someone who hates driving, was in the steering seat and let me tell you, we did not do good smuggling, ha! We had engineers, shooters, and the other pilot. Definitely can be fun for a large group.

Rides for the Evening

Tower of Terror

After our Star Wars rides, Elise, Cali, and I separated to go ride the Tower of Terror. The plan was to meet up with Sky and Skye for the roller coaster since we had time and the rides were right next to each other.

We waited for nearly 2 hours, watching Turning Red together which I downloaded on my Disney+ app before leaving for the trip. It had come out earlier that month and I hadn’t gotten a chance to watch it yet.

Just when were about to get on the other side of the line where they break up into lanes, just when we were right at the top, the ride broke down! We were RIGHT THERE.

We had to wait for another 45 minutes because of the shutdown. It was getting really close to our Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster time. We almost got out of line but we were able to push back the time by 20 minutes and ride was finally up and running.

When we got on the instructions said to put all bags in the holder underneath the seat so I took off my fanny pack but I couldn’t get it in the holder before they started of the ride. I had a mini heart attacks because I thought I lost my bag on the ride. I tried holding on to it but the gravity and force made it difficult. Thankfully, my bag, which had my cellphone in it, still ended up in my lap.

If you aren’t afraid of free-fall rides (or even if you are) you will like this. I’m not a fan of falling but there’s something about this ride that makes it so fun.

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster and Runaway Railway

After enjoying the Tower of Terror, we met back up with the Skys and walked over to Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster. Again, it felt really good not to wait in line. The ride was fast as I remembered but I was surprised that it felt short. This is fast indoor coaster that blasts Aerosmith in your seats and as your ride through. There is at least one loop but it’s over quickly. Definitely take your Mickey ears off when riding.

At this point it was getting dark out but we didn’t end up eating any dinner in the park. The group got separated again although I can’t remember why but we came together again to ride Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway. The ride was inside the Grauman’s Chinese Theater replica to my surprise. The line wasn’t long at all. I was actually surprised at how fast the ride felt, especially a ride that was targeted more for small kids.

End of the Show

When we came out from the ride, I realized why the ride wasn’t long. We came out in the middle of the firework show. Fireworks shot over head and projections were being cast on the building replica.

I was still comparing it to Harmonious from yesterday so it didn’t feel the same to me. We stayed for the rest of the firework show. When it was over we tried to see if there were any other places to eat (where we discovered next to no line for Rise of the Resistance). Everything was pretty much closed so I snacked on chips when we got back to the room.

The next day, our last day in the parks, we’d be in Magic Kingdom. Since this would be most popular park, we made plan to buy lightning passes for two rides that we were sure would have long line but we’ll get into that next week.

Not too many pictures this day, I was too wrapped up trying to get from one place to another. How would you spend your day in Hollywood Studios? I feel there were a few things we didn’t get a chance to do.
