Taking a short break from the Chicago series to talk about something happening locally in Atlanta. This is one of two short posts.
The city of Atlanta finally has a Michelin Guide! On October 24th, a ceremony was held to recognize restaurants, chefs, and certain staff for their outstanding food and work.
You might be asking, “Why is this a big deal?” Well, getting recognition from Michelin (yes, the same as the tire company) means the restaurant has great quality. With Michelin originally being a guidebook for travelers, they go all around the world to search for the best restaurants.
The highest honor they can bestow on these restaurants is their star system from one to three. One star is awesome and three stars is exceptional.
Here in Atlanta, five restaurants got one Michelin star! Two restaurants got a green star – this means the restaurant has shown innovative ways to be sustainable and eco-friendly.
Ten restaurants received the Bib Gourmand award. This award is reserved for restaurants that have great food and an affordable price.
With this guide being released, it will most likely boost tourism in the city, especially for the foodies out there.
My goal is to go to all the Bib Gourmand restaurants and at least one of the one star restaurants. Maybe I’ll blog about them.
If you want to know specifically where these restaurants are for your next visit to Atlanta, check out the map below! If you want to see how I made this map, check out my post on Google My Maps.
